More On New London
Here's a Saturday morning update on some things people around the blogosphere have sent me.
First, let me thank Jeff Goldstein at Protein Wisdom for his support and the link to yesterday's post (and also a thank you goes out to Bill at INDC Journal for the link). If anyone out there is interested in keeping your own property when a wealthy developer wants it, please spread the word and help us help these victims of governmental hyperpower in New London, CT.
Musing
They have no idea!!
Despite $2 billion and counting in tax dollars and all the federal government and anti-gunnerÿs blustering about how important the Canadian firearms registry is to the safety of the country, they actually have no idea how tracing firearms helps make the country safer. As a recent Access to Information request by Saskatchewan MP, Garry Breitkreuz clearly showed, the Canadian Firearms Centre doesnÿt even keep records on that sort of thing.

FOR SHAME SUPREME COURT
Amendments to the Constitution
Article V.
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger, nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb: nor shall any person be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law: nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
The Supreme Court has wiped away one of the most basic rights of property owners in the US in its decision today to grant New London CT the right to take over private property and place into the hands of other private owners.
The Gitmo Investigation Fraud
So now the Democrats have decided that the most important thing to do in the War on Terror is to provide Al-Jazeera with more anti-American propaganda. As such, they've demanded an independent investigation to look into alleged abuses at Camp Delta at Guantanamo Bay, where we are holding several hundred terrorists.
In this post I'm going to deal with this latest Democrat diversion.

Is There A Bright Side to Durbin & Co.?
Conservatives rightly criticize liberal politicians like Dick Durbin, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, etc. etc. when they spout off against the American war effort and land themselves on Al-Jazeera...But, could their insane rantings be promoting democracy in the Middle East?
Considerettes
Fired for personal beliefs
If you write an essay on your own time with your own equipment and of your own thoughts, should your company be allowed to fire you if the essays conflicts with the company's values, even if you don't specify your connection to your company? The Allstate insurance company thinks so.
